  • The altars, chapels, and prayer spaces are quintessential Norbertine experiences. Be sure to take in the unrivaled stain glass windows in the main Church and side chapels. I experienced an early Winter Constitutions Class in 2010 as part of my Formation experience. The simple majesty of the beautifully appointed Abbey Church allows one to gaze at white crossed grave sites of some of the Midwest’s most revered pastors, ministers and theologians, (not to mention that of a Norbertine Congressman!) A spiritually uplifting space which is home to a brilliant community.

  • Love going to to the abbey for walks. There is a maze you can walk through that is a great meditation. A friend took me to this place for mass a few years ago, and now that I am Catholic I try to get here once a month or two. Sadly I lost touch with that childhood friend, but think of her often when I go here and smile and remember the good times. Lots of Wildlife- the area is just so peaceful. The inside of the Abbey is beautiful. I took a tour inside inside. A great history lesson behind this place.

  • St. Norbert's Abbey is the residence of the Norbertines. The chapel is beautiful with awesome acoustics. The organ in the chapel is a great treasure and they organize well attended organ recitals during the year. The stained glass windows in the chapel bear symbolic art that reveal aspects of faith. One wing of the abbey hosts a spirituality center where spiritual retreats are held. The abbey campus is serene and inviting. The best time to visit the Abbey is during summer when the "Abbey-Fest" is held.
